La semana después de Semana Santa / The week after Holy Week

Murcia celebrates the Spring Festival in the week after Easter. All the buzz in the city these days contrasts with the quietness enjoyed in Hacienda Riquelme.

Rarely found in the resort such a pleasant combination of good weather and total relaxation. You could only hear birds and also frogs at night. For most of the day the golf course was very lively with many players.

The photos below were taken during that week. Click any to enlarge.

The lake by the Phase 2 / El lago junto a la Fase 2
Cat stalking by the lake between phase 1 and 2. Although this Easter we saw less cats than in other visits, feral cats are a plague in the resort and some neighbours are fed up with them. Birds of lakes - some are of protected species - are constantly threatened by these felines. It is not unusual that cats hunt birds around the lakes and in any case they make hard for birds to breed there.
The pond outside the resort that, as we were informed, feeds on the water treatment plant next door, was almost empty. A reedbed had grown and some coots with chicks could be watched  there.
The resort is in the middle of the countryside. So it is no wonder that sometimes grasshoppers as the one in the photo, about 10 cm in length, reach the apartments.
