Míster Witt en el Cantón / Mr. Witt among the rebels

It is a historical and psychological novel set in the cantonal insurrection. The main character, the title to the work, is a British engineer that works in Cartagena and is married to a Spanish woman, follower of the insurgents. He is a wise, conservative and puritanical man. In contrast, she is a passionate and instinctive woman from Lorca.

Mr. Witt in the canton was the second novel by Ramón J. Sender that wrote it late 1935, just in time to win the National Book Award (Premio Nacional de Literatura) that year.

Se trata de una novela histórica y sicológica ambientada en la insurrección cantonal. El personaje principal, que da título a la obra, es un ingeniero inglés que trabaja en Cartagena y está casado con una española partidaria de los insurrectos. Él es un hombre racional, conservador y puritano. En contraste, ella  es una lorquina pasional e instintiva.

Mr. Witt en el cantón fue la segunda novela del escritor Ramón J. Sender. La escribió a finales de 1935, a tiempo de ganar el Premio Nacional de Literatura de ese mismo año.
